About Dr. Osborne

Podiatrist, Dr. Stacy Osborne has been a fixture on the Cincinnati running scene since he started running in 1968, first as a runner for Norwood High School, then Rio Grande College, winning numerous awards, especially in Cross Country Racing.

Upon graduation from Rio Grande, Dr. Osborne taught science at Norwood Middle School, where he was Assistant Track and Cross Country Coach for the high school. The Norwood Cross Country Program was third in the city in those years behind the Colerain and Elder powerhouses.

Dr. Osborne left teaching in 1979 to attend the “Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine” in Cleveland Ohio. While in Cleveland he was Assistant Cross Country Coach at Mentor High School winning the Greater Cleveland League Championship three times, placing fourth and ninth as a team at state; but in his own words, “finally coaching at a school with as many boys as Colerain and Elder, we never lost to Colerain or Elder while I was at Mentor, and the boys who were ninth graders my last year there, won the state championship; their senior year.”

Graduating in 1983, he returned to Cincinnati setting up a private practice general podiatry office located on the Norwood – Pleasant Ridge line.

In 2004 Dr. Osborne was inducted into the Norwood High School Athletic Hall of Fame, with the following speech in his honor; “There is no single distance runner more influential in the history of Norwood High than Stacy Osborne. He was the first runner to bring scientific training to Norwood. He was the first runner to train year round, a voracious reader and student of distance running, he was literally the player / coach his senior year at Norwood.

Before Osborne, Norwood was a sub .500 school; during Osborne’s junior and senior year Norwood was over .700 and it stayed that way until 1982.

With his intelligence, personality and sense of humor he recruited, coached and influenced young men to achievement, excellence, distinction and life long success. His impact and influence was universal and remained that way right up to and through Norwood’s 1995 state champion Chad Kincaid and is still felt by his runners today.

With a life long interest in running, Dr. Osborne is Board Certified in Podiatric Orthopedics and is an expert in prescribing the right orthotic for a runner that balances, aligns and guides that runners feet the best way to prevent and treat their running injuries.

Dr. Osborne gives generously of his time and talents to the Cincinnati Running Community, giving free consultations at “Bob Roncker’s Running Spot” since 1983. He videotapes many local races just for posterity. He has directed numerous road and cross country races over the years. He has been race director of the Runner’s Club Summer Cross Country Series since 1987 and is Technical Equipment Manager for the club.

Dr. Osborne lives in Sharonville with his wife Jan of 30 plus years and they have two children Erica (born 1988) a nurse and Alex (born 1994) a student athlete.
